The Hello Darlins receive three 2022 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations!

Calgary, Alberta-based roots music collective The Hello Darlins have been nominated for three 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards. The group, formed around vocalist Candace Lacina and keyboardist Mike Little, earned nods for Ensemble of the Year, New/Emerging Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Still Waters” (feat. Matt Andersen).

It’s been a wild ride since The Hello Darlins appeared on the scene virtually out of nowhere just over a year ago, but during that time they have been featured in American Songwriter, AmericanaUK, The Bluegrass Situation, Maverick Magazine, Lyric Magazine, Rock ‘N Reel and many other outlets.

The Hello Darlins’ debut album Go By Feel is available now on all digital platforms and through thehellodarlins.com. More information on the 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards will be announced soon.

Joe Nolan and Stephen Fearing earn 2021 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations!

Big congrats to Joe Nolan and Stephen Fearing for earning nominations in the Contemporary Album of the Year category for the 2021 Canadian Folk Music Awards!

With Drifters, Edmonton, Alberta singer/songwriter Joe Nolan continued a remarkable creative run over the past two years, getting down to the bone with a 10-track predominantly acoustic collection, his first to be released in partnership with Canadian roots music label Fallen Tree Records.

Like other artists who are loosely categorized as ‘folk’ and ‘Americana’, Stephen Fearing questioned what those terms really mean on The Unconquerable Past, an album that can be seen as embracing and transcending the labels and genres simultaneously. Above all, on The Unconquerable Past, Fearing stepped out once again with a fresh perspective and a new batch of songs and stories drawing deeply from over thirty years of writing and playing across Canada and around the world.
